NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man has been arrested for hitting a calf after it came in his way while walking in east Delhi’s Vinod Nagar on Tuesday. The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera, the footage of which went viral on social media. In the one-minute video, the man, Kamal, can be seen hitting the calf with a brick.
On Tuesday, police were alerted about the injured calf through social media.
DCP (East) Deepak Yadav said, someone on twitter tagged him in the video, following which a team inquired about the incident. In the video, a man can be seen walking when the calf hits him and a polybag in his hand falls. The man initially kicks the calf and goes on to pick his bag, but later he returns to hit the animal with a brick.
“The calf was sent for medical examination at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and given proper medical treatment. Kamal has been arrested under Prevention of Cruelty against Animal Act,” Yadav added.
